Bouchercon and ThanksLiving

November for me means Bouchercon 2014: Murder at the Beach. This will be my first time at the Annual World Mystery Convention. I've been to others, but not ones tailored for the criminally-inclined, or rather, mystery fans & professionals.

My head is BUZZing.

And all I can think about is the beach and Southern California's awesome vegan restaurants. Why am I not there NOW?

The two pictures below aren't quite Long Beach, California, which is where the convention is taking place; but Crystal Cove State Park is just a bit south down Pacific Coast Highway. I grew up smack dab between Long Beach and Laguna Beach, so it's the perfect excuse to get my yearly Golden State fix. I love the beach but live in a desert. Go fig.

I'm working on my own mystery novel, which I'm trying to finish by January. I am sure I will return inspired and Mousercised energized from all the people, books, and writerly tips.

Finding time to blog or podcast has been très difficile lately, I'm more often on Tweeetter and FB. Don't hate me cause I do a lot of curating there, particularly of pop-culture-y things.

ThanksLiving is also around the corner. One of my favorite dishes is Sage- and Pumpkin Seed-Encrusted Seitan With Roasted Garlic-Pumpkin Sauce. It's a vegan entree and it has a few extra steps, but nothing scary, and it's also a hit with the omnivores in my life. Give it a try!

Or maybe you do Mexican food for your holidays like a lot of Phoenicians. How about some hot truck tacos from one of my fave vegan chefs: Chipotle Seitan & Roasted Potato Tacos. Mmmmm, TACOS!

Wait! Tacos on the beach!
SOON, my pretties. /evil sorceress voice/

This is what happens when I blog at dinnertime. Food-centric thinking.

If you are going to Bouchercon, gimme a shout on Twitter. If you're vegan and going to Bouchercon, dibs as your lunch date!!
